Enerco Corporation’s History

Back in 1975 and 1976, Bob Othmer – Enerco Corporation’s founder, at the time a chemist at Dow Chemical Corporation started puzzling out some industry needs. In talking with business owners and operators, many complained about the poor service they received from their water treatment vendors. With a desire to fill this need Bob and his wife Kathy, a microbiologist, formed Enerco Corporation in 1977. After many years of success in this field, the products and services offered by Enerco Corporation were expanded. First wastewater treatment technology was added, followed by high-performance lubricants. With the addition of cleaning and sanitizing formulations, Enerco Corporation was able to provide a broad range of treatments and specialty chemical needs.

Through laboratory testing and on-site development, Enerco Corporation’s product line has grown to over 700 chemical products and many pieces of equipment for use in steam boilers, cooling towers, hot/chilled loops, and wastewater applications. We also represent equipment from many other manufacturers. Today we service over 1500 active customers including industrial, manufacturing, food and beverage, healthcare, housing, schools, and churches.

Besides maintaining an extensive catalog of products Enerco Corporation offers additional services to support our customers' operations. Enerco Corporation maintains a full laboratory staffed with degreed chemists and a microbiologist, providing testing and analysis of water, glycol, and microbiological samples from customer systems and providing detailed reports with recommendations for treatment. Enerco Corporation also maintains a full staff of highly trained field service technicians, performing onsite testing and support for our customers’ systems.
